Today the website developer that I hired told me the website was done and he was ready to upload it to my domain. I am hosting with IONOS, I added him as an admin and he began uploading the page.
However, I noticed that while he did that wordpress logged me out and he said that to migrate the website he had to migrate everything so the admin information changed and I lost access. The website finished uploading and its live on my domain but I still don’t have access. He told me that since the current admin was now his information that he had to change the info which would take 12-24 hours, which sounds like complete bullshit to me since those changes are instant. He also tried to tell me that he could make the password whatever I wanted but that it would remain under his email address so he could have access to it and receive emails in case there were bugs on the page. I told him that I needed complete admin access under my own email. Sooo I wanted to ask if this sounds shady to anyone else?
I didn’t give him access to IONOS only made him an admin on wordpress.
