I’m sure this must be a FAQ, I’ve been trying to Google this and I’ve watched a couple YouTube videos, but I’m just not getting it.
Themes affect the appearance and structure of the site, and templates…also affect the appearance and structure of the site?
Can someone break it down and explain?

Essentially, the theme covers the styling of the entire site and templates are for specific sections of the site, such as a *template* for all blog posts that only applies to blog posts and **not** other pages.
Your confusion may come from the fact that many languages translate “theme” as “template” for some reason.
Themes will change practically everything on your site, not just looks. And templates are just a handy way of applying past designs into a particular page.
Themes contain templates. Themes handle look and feel as well as custom functionality, templates handle how information is presented within the theme.
