I’d like to share my thoughts on WP Beginner’s website and its plug-ins. Overall, WP Beginner (or “WPB” for short) offers reasonable solutions and has good reviews on its website. However, I’ve noticed that they have a strong bias towards their products, which may not always be the best choice for customers in terms of price, requirements, and ease of use.
Although the owner of WPB is intelligent, I’ve observed that their brand has shifted towards a more infomercial-like focus. The website’s purpose seems centered around selling products, which detracts from its previous reputation for being helpful. I’ve also noticed that when I’ve raised concerns about this bias and their tactics, I’ve been banned or silenced.
While this type of marketing isn’t new, creating a website that pretends to offer unbiased reviews and information but is really just a vehicle for selling products is reminiscent of Facebook’s playbook. I’m disappointed to see a previously trusted source of information for site beginners turns out to be a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
