  1. No website needs “Really Simple SSL”. Set your SSL cert up properly, and find/replace your http=>https URLs with Better Search Replace.

  2. “Too many” is a malformed question. The answer is always “it depends, are they required?”.

    Really simple ssl does nothing. It’s a band aid for an improperly setup environment. Backups can be done at the hosting level, or remotely…but I have no idea how yours or configured. No matter what (via plugin or correctly) they should never be stored on the same server they are backing up. That’s silly. Make sure it’s going to dropbox or something, at least.

    All your monster insights plugins can be replaced by just learning how to use GTM – they just inject events into your analytics, easily accomplished independently of WP…but takes some know how. Are they required? If you don’t know how, sure. They aren’t hurting anything, and if you aren’t an agency relying on them the time cost of maintaining GTM is probably way higher than the cost of using these plugins.
