Do I need to keep a plugin activated or even simply installed if it has already performed all I needed from it?

[ad_1]

I am totally new to WP.

I read that accumulating plugins in WP may not be a good idea. So I have one question I can’t seem to find an answer to on a regular Google search.

Do I need to keep a plugin activated or even simply installed if it has already performed all I needed from it?

I’ll give you two examples.

Any plugin to insert pixels, tags, or code in headers and footers. Once the code is inserted, is there any reason to keep the plugin activated or even installed? Or will my code snippets or pixel disappear if I deactivate it or uninstall it?

WP Auto Terms is a plugin to generate your Privacy Policy, Affiliate Links’ Disclaimers, T&Cs, etc. Once I have those edited and online, I am not going to change them every month. I might update them once a year of if a major regulatory change occurs.

So should I keep it installed?

Thanks in advance for your answers and advice.

You will need to keep the plugin activated, as it will insert the code each time the page loads.

A simple test is to simply “deactivate” the plugin (flush any caching if you’re using any), then reload the pages on the frontend.
