Does Bluehost allow isolated websites?

[ad_1]

I was looking for a WordPress guy who can remove malware from my websites. I’m currently using shared hosting on Bluehost. One of his recommendations is to use Siteground so we can isolate each website to avoid cross-infection. He wants me to use his referral link, which I don’t really mind. I just renewed my host for another 3 years, so getting a new host does not make sense to me financially. So my question would be–is switching to Siteground the only way to go? Does Bluehost not allow isolating websites to prevent cross-contamination?

  1. In such case many of our user just prefer separate shared hosting plan for each wordpress website which is hosted on different server, this will automatically separate one site from other. We have been using immunify 360 to scan websites it really works great to avoid infection or attacks on website. Make sure you select a provider that offer security updates and managed wordpress solution before you select one,

Also check about backup options and customer support to make life easier at mission critical moments.. Most host just dont connect.

  2. Siteground is far better than Bluehost, and yes, shared hosting is bad for your website’s security. Although I can’t imagine that Bluehost, as bad as they are, don’t have at least some form of isolation between sites on their shared plan.

The best solution is always going to be a dedicated server / VPS. Siteground offer these but they tend to start at quite a high cost compared to their other plans.

You can spin up a dedicated VPS (albeit a low powered one) on something like DigitalOcean / AWS for about $6 a month

  3. We can help you remove the malware.

Or you can do it yourself for free if you have a recent back up to restore tor site from. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions.

Infections on shared hosting are often, but of course not always, a symptom of bad neighborhood syndrome. When you host your site on a server full of websites on the cheapest possible hosting, your website will often be sharing a server work sketchy websites, websites with poor security, out of date websites, and malicious websites. All of these things make the server more vulnerable to being compromised.

If you want to minimize the chance of this happening in the future, but don’t want to deal with the costs and extra work associated with a VPS, it’s helpful to simply move to a better neighborhood where people take better care of their websites, sketchy websites are not allowed, and the hosting company actually cares about malware on their servers.

We host all our clients websites with either [WPX](https://wpx.net/?affid=4816) or [Kinsta](https://kinsta.com/?kaid=CVDCHCCEEPLG) depending on their needs.

WPX is $21/mo if that’s in your budget. They will migrate your site for free and have great support. It’s a really good step up from the big name cheap hosts and not a huge leap from the$12/mo or whatever Bluehost charges after the initial discounts ends.

Whatever you do, I can’t stress this enough, get away from Bluehost and stay away from the other big consumer-focused ones too. I’d even avoid siteground at this point.

Any decent host will give you a free migration, so it’s really no trouble. You just have to find a good one.

  4. My worst hosting nightmare is to have a site hacked and that malware/viruse/hacker get into all the sites on that hosting’s account. Unfortunately, that really happened many years ago, before I moved my sites to SiteGround and where I had another chance to test their website’s isolation system on GoGeek package – and it really worked, none of other sites were cross-infected, just that one site due to vulnerability, I believe in one of the plugins we had.

  5. How many websites you have? You can still use shared hosting, instead of all websites in 1 cpanel, you can use separate cpanels.
