Editing sites offline before posting change to the live site

Hello, I’m new here as well as new to WordPress.

I would like to ask for some guidance please.

I have a new wordpress site and I would like to know how to create “offline” edits so that I can view the results of my changes before putting the new edits live.

There must be a way to do this but after viewing a ton of youtube videos and website searches I can’t find the information/tutorial I’m looking for.
