it works as intended ie text only, visual only or both as chosen on my test site.
Maybe you need to refresh cache, or test with just bbpress and style pack to eliminate other plugins
and just checked and image upload seems also to be working as intended

Thank you, it was the cache that stopped the text editor only for working, sorry I should have checked that first.
I still have the media problem, I will investigate it on my test site and let you know if I find the problem on the other forum.
