efficient theme undo and version restore

[ad_1]

Hi everybody, i’m pretty new to wordpress

I wanted to ask if there is an efficient and affordable way to use a restore or undo function on wordpress themes;

i’m confident now with the concept of staging subdomain as well as backup website files and database, but i’m unable to achieve a function such as practical undo or restore.

Just like on a word document, i would love to have versioning for every day so that, since i’m a wordpress noob, i can restore previous days of work in case i mess up something with editing the site. Let’s say on day 1 i edit the upper banner and write “hello world”, on day 2 i write “hello world again”, i want a function to restore the theme on day 1 and have the website show “hello world”

My last achievement consisted in setting up a ftp server and handling the .sql file from export/import functions on phpmyadmin on hosting, all the procedure are working great but i’m unable to restore theme edits

If you have any idea feel free to share for me and the other wp noobs!

Thanks
