Hello! I am building a website that has a lot of pages (and Learndash lessons) with embedded Vimeo videos. A couple of weeks ago the videos stopped displaying. I can see them while editing the page/lesson but if I preview the page the videos don’t show.
When I switched to the Twenty Twenty-Three Theme, the videos displayed correctly. So I’m thinking it has to do with the Buddy Boss theme that I am using. In Buddy Boss settings>media, I see a message saying “Your server needs FFmpeg installed….”
Your server needs
FFmpeginstalled to automatically create thumbnails after uploading videos (optional). Ask your web host.If FFmpeg is already installed on your server and you still see the above warning, this means BuddyBoss Platform is unable to auto-detect the binary file path for FFmpeg. You will need to add the below FFmpeg absolute path constants into your
wp-config.phpfile, replacing PATH_OF_BINARY_FILE with the actual file path to the FFmpeg binary file. Ask your web host to provide the absolute path for the FFmpeg binary file.
I contacted Hostgator. They said this was the problem and that I’d need to move to a dedicated server to have the FFmpeg installed.
I contacted BuddyBoss. They opened a ticket and didn’t seem to know about any change that was made recently to the BB Theme.
Could someone help with troubleshooting steps and/or info?
Here’s a page where I tried a Vimeo block and embed block:
