Trying to find an events plugin that is bloat-free and lightweight has been harder than anticipated! We need an events plugin that meets the following criteria:
\- Bloat-free / Lightweight
\- Event Categories
\- Display List / Agenda and Image Grid View
\- Recurring Events
\- Single Day & Mulit-Day Events Supported
\- Disable Single Event Template or Gutenberg Editor
\- Click Event Title / Image Opens to Single Event Page
\- Option to Redirect Event Title / Image to External Link
\- Less than $500/Year
\- Nice to Have: Color Coded Events or Categories
So far I have tried the following:
Very Simple Events List is the closest BUT doesn’t offer recurring events and there is no easy way to display upcoming events as an image grid.
Pie Calendar is great and easy to use BUT there is no image grid display option, the general list display looks very rough, and there isn’t an easy way to redirect event title to external link.
EventOn allows for almost everything on the list BUT definitely wouldn’t be considered lightweight.
Any suggestions on additional plugins to try?
