feedback on plugins? do I have too many? should I downsize?

[ad_1]

I’m running an artist’s website that also functions as an e-commerce store. These are the plugins I currently have on my site:

* coblocks (most of my pages use these blocks)
* mailpoet (for newsletters)
* rankmath
* sitekit by google (to track analytics and traffic)
* smash ballon Instagram feed (functions as a second gallery)
* spectra (honestly only using a few blocks from here but I’ve disabled whatever I’m not using on their dashboard)
* updraftplus
* woocommerce
* woocommerce blocks
* woocommerce stripe gateway
* wordfence security
* WP mail logging (honestly not totally sure what this does? but I worry my mailing will fail if I delete it)
* WP mail SMTP
* WP code lite (to add conversion tags to my site)
* WP forms lite (contact form and donation forms)

Will having this many plugins fuck up my performance? I’m still considering downloading WP Rocket for caching but not sure if it’s not worth it with this much going on in the backend. I also kind of want to add a cart popup plugin for woocommerce too if there are any good recommendations for that.

I had more if you can believe it but recently deleted tiktok, pinterest and google add-ons for woocommcerce.

  1. I think it’s average, but in general, any plugin you have will use some processing power, so it will definitly have some effect on performance even if it’s small or unnoticeable. Especially plugins that do backups and scanning like updraft and WordFence. The former will use a lot of processing power when taking backups, but should have no effect when not doing anything. On the other hand, WordFence has real-time monitoring, scanning..etc, so it will use a lot of resources.

    I’m not saying you should remove these plugin, I’m just saying, you could be using 1 plugin which is using the same resources as 10, so it’s not really about the number of plugins. I hope this will help answer your question.
