Normally it should only add/change/remove rules between # BEGIN WP Captcha Firewall and # END WP Captcha Firewall
We haven’t had any other reports of this so maybe something in your existing rules is confusing our search and replace. You can paste the contents of the old htaccess file if it doesn’t cotain any sensitive information and I’ll have a look.
