I go to /Wordpress.com and log in. I choose the domain and the plan (In this case the personal plan) and pay it in the shopping cart. Then I can start designing and once finished, I transfer ownership of the site to the client. Is that so? And another thing, I don't understand how the payment issue works, I mean, as a designer, in order to start designing, do I have to have previously paid for the domain and the personal plan? Should the client pay me in advance that first time?
Wait, you’ve been commissioned to build a WordPress site have never used WordPress before?? Have you told your client this? Do you have any web development experience?
For starters, you shouldn’t be using WordPress.com.
Yes, WordPress makes you buy a domain before you start building the website you can either ask the customer to do that initial process or do it yourself and ask him for a payment in advance to cover it.
