Free plugin for a portfolio gallery including both images and self-hosted video?

I’m a visual effects artist who is pretty new to WordPress. I’m trying to rebuild my portfolio and I’m wondering what good options there are for galleries that can include video and images and ideally some text about each item. Anyone have experience with using these?
