Frost, whats the word on the street about its speed, performance and bloat?

I've done some research to get an idea, but I didn't find anything concrete. So, I'm just curious—does anyone know how Frost sites perform in terms of speed?

How do they fare with Google rankings and SEO?

Is there excessive bloat, and if so, would it be easy to remove unnecessary elements? From what I’ve seen so far, it seems like one of the more lightweight options (I don't know much about this though so I could be wrong).

I've built many WordPress sites from scratch, I've never used a starter theme or builder before. I'm curious to try one out for my next client build. That said, I do love the speed and cleanliness of my previous sites, since they're all completely unique custom builds. However, I feel like I should keeping up with the industry and see how others are building sites these days. For some reason, Frost has caught my attention.

  1. Frost is a very nice theme. I have tested it, recreating some sites build with GeneratePress. Performant.

I prefer Blockbase, it’s even more minimalistic.

  2. Combined file size of Frost is 0.6 megabytes, which is four times smaller than the default theme Twenty Twentyfour (3.2 MB) and about 15 times smaller than Kadence (9.1 MB).

I wouldn’t necessarily call any of these themes bloated strictly based on their combined file sizes; one theme might simply ship with more patterns or templates than the other. Frost’s small footprint though makes it less likely to be bloated IMO.
