G. Fonts with Combine and link deferred in head still render blocking

[ad_1]

Maybe is wiser to just locally host them though…

seen this happen now and again as well sometimes.

The only reason I can think this would make sense if font-display is set to block (or auto and the browser consider this block, not sure which browsers do so), so maybe check if that is the case and if so change font-display to fallback or even optional?

If not that then it just makes no sense (at least not to me) .. 😉

Thank you I see is weird. Seems I have no rule for font-display in CSS specifying those google fonts, but I can try in CSS to use swap and see what happens 😉

I realized a detail that perhaps could be important? I can only see the transfer size in the PS report of 1.3 KiB being render blocking but not the font themselves which are 26 kiB aprox each, that is weird.

Either way not a big problem I’m curious though about this, but in the end I should locally host the fonts nevertheless. Will try using the CSS rule and report back 😉

Update: I ‘d have to set too many CSS rules, I will instead locally host the fonts and set display swap in the properties. Marking as solved, thanks as usual for everything 🙂
