Getting a lot of automated spam responses like this through my site’s contact form. I’m using the standard Jetpack contact form on my site. Any idea on how to eliminate the spam? I’m already using Akismet.

  1. That’s interesting, Akismet usually picks those up on the contact form on my own sites. Cialis spam ads aren’t the most subtle spam ever. 🙂

It may be worth checking your Akismet settings to ensure it’s properly connected. You can also [contact the Akismet team](https://akismet.com/contact/) and ask them, they’re there to help.

  2. i use splorp’s comment blacklist. add the list to settings > discussion > disallowed keys, and most spam in comments and supported contact forms should get blocked. completely free and works with a native wordpress feature.

i haven’t used akismet in a long time, but it used to be good when i did. i believe it’s no longer free and requires a subscription these days?

also, try to move off jetpack if you can. it adds unnecessary bloat to your site.

  3. OOPSpam works better than Akismet and you can quickly block any entry if you get any.

  4. Recaptcha is pretty much useless nowadays. Set up cloudflare. It’s free, super easy and will make your site faster. Once set up you could enable bot protections, AI data scrapers and even geoblock locations.
