I'm on a WordPress Premium plan. I can't add plugins like Yoast or anything else to edit SEO details.
In general, I'm unhappy with the way my page descriptions get pulled into Google. I usually use the "excerpts" section, which sometimes helps, but not always. And there's no way to add an excerpt to my homepage.
I have query loops towards the top of my page that pull in recent blog posts. And on the first post, I have about 30 words of a summary displayed — this summary is what's getting pulled into Google's search results for my home page. Since I write about a wide variety of topics and post at least once a week, this looks really ridiculous from a search results perspective.
Is there any way to add a page description or something similar to an "excerpt" on just my homepage without adding a plugin? I thought of adding a paragraph of text to the top, but it doesn't look good and honestly I like the arrangement of having the query loop toward the top of the page.
If you need reference to see what I'm talking about, my website is here.

Since you’re on a WordPress.com plan that doesn’t allow plugins or customisation, the only option available is to put manually put a paragraph of text in the top of your homepage so that Google sees that first. Another reason why you shouldn’t use WordPress.com.
Ditch wordpress.com and find a host that isn’t bottom rung dog shit. Problem solved!
