Google Photos Plug In for Large Amount of Photos

[ad_1]

Hi everyone,

I need a way to embed a large amount of photos (300-500) onto a web page on WordPress. The photos are coming from a Google Photos album. I only need to do this once a year, for an annual fundraising event that my organization hosts. Our web designer set up a plug-in to do this, but the plug-in has a cap of 100 photos. We asked if there was a plug-in that work better, and our web designer said it won't work because websites aren't made to show hundreds of photos, that it would slow down the load time too much, and that we should instead send people directly to the Google photos album. I know you're supposed to listen to the professional, but our web designer has been wrong in the past and sometimes says that something isn't possible… and then later it is possible when we ask a second time.

I'm looking for advice/insight/solutions that I can circle back around to my web designer to suggest to implement.

Thanks for your help.

  1. Your designer is correct that just embedding those photos on a page is not practical. Load time is an issue and there is not much of a user experience. If you absolutely have to do it, I’d look at a service like Flickr that allows you to embed a slideshow of your photos on your page. Even then, it would be better for the user if you broke the set down into categories and created different albums.
