I run 5 different websites and I’ve noticed that google never switched its primary crawler from desktop to smartphone on the three of them.
Incidentally, these 3 websites all have one thing in common: They use the Genatepress theme (two of them pro, one is the free version)
I know that generatepress is considered a great theme and that it should definitely be perfectly optimized for mobile (my sites work fine on mobile as well) but still: could google’s preference for the desktop crawler have anything to do with the theme?

Has Google ever made any comments on the “whys” of the crawlers they’ll send out to a website.
