Have you been working with LocalWP and WP Engine?

[ad_1]

My company run an online shop, and we wish to change our setup completely to use LocalWP for offline edits and then upload the site to WordPress with WP Engine.

At the moment, our WordPress website uses multiple API’s such as connection from Woocommerce to Klarna and Visma through Sharespine.

We also use common plugins like Mailchimp and Google Ads & Listings.

How would Local work in such an enviroment? Would we have problems with these connections when uploading our offine site to online?

Any recommendations using Local for an E-commerce store is much appreciated, before we take the big step!

  1. If you already have a site, then something like a staging environment could be useful if you want to edit stuff behind the scenes without having to work on a live site.

My understanding is that many people who use Local do it when they’re first building a site. It works a bit faster than having to wait for hosting to load things, after which you can migrate the final product to your host.

  2. Should just use wp engine staging for this, no need to pull a local copy. Clone your prod environment to staging.

  3. LocalWP synced with WPEngine will make an exact copy of your site (different to recreating a copy like many other plugins). Is really useful and I haven’t had absolutely any real problem with them.
