Having trouble working locally

[ad_1]

Hello.. I’m sorry for the long post but I’m trying to explain the steps I took.

Our company has a wordpress project hosted on hostinger.
The requirement is to make an Arabic version of the website. Now I’m trying to get what’s up on the server to my machine to start working.

I logged into cpanel and tried to compress the files to download it but there was no enough space. So I created an FTP account to transfer the files to my machine and it took forever but eventually I managed to do it. Now I searched on how to get the project up and running locally and everyone seemed to recommend LocalWP so I downloaded it.
I tried to zip the project using the zip function on windows 11 but some files namings prevented it from happening, so I installed bandizip to make it work.

Now when I import the zipped file into LocalWP it says please try again with a compatible zip file. What does this mean? I’ve searched but I can’t find an explanation.

Thanks in advance.

  1. I advise you to use the “Prime Mover” WordPress plugin to migrate your site to local hosting. Install it on the hosting and on the local machine. The plugin itself will create a backup of the site and database for migration. Then on the local machine you start the migration process. The plugin will do almost all the work automatically
