How can I create a form where users can search a database of names and return a number value to be submitted with the form?

Basically, I need to create a wedding website where users can RSVP — but the couple would like the functionality to have the attendees search for their last name and see the number of people in their family. I.e Search for Smith family and see 5, Jones family see 3, etc…

I don’t mind spending money on a plug in to make this easier. But I’m not sure of a form builder that allows this.

  1. Just did a quick google and found this: – it has a frontend search feature.

    If you only want to return a number, I’m guessing that would need to be custom coded. Hopefully you don’t have different families with the same last names!
