How can I make a blog category also a content pillar page?

[ad_1]

I know there’s a way but having a hard time finding it. I want to have categories to create silos but I want to blog under them but also want content on the page, not just blog content.

ie. www.site.com/category/ Where /category/ will be say a 1000 word article. But if I blog I want to be able to have blog posts under it like www.site.com/category/blogpost/

I will also want sub categories and posts under that as well, ie www.site.com/category/subcategory/ and www.site.com/category/subcategory/blogpost2/

What’s the best way to set this up?

  1. The simplest and easiest way would be to use the category description for your category post and style the category template to suit your needs.

Another way would be to use a plugin like ACF or CarbonFields to extend the category page.
