How can I update to 6.3?

[ad_1]

The company I work for has a business plan with WordPress and we’re trying to revamp our website but our web designer can’t install any of the plugins like Elementor because our current version is out of date. We’re stuck on 5.5.1 and we can’t get wordpress updated.

Every time we hit the “look for updates” tab it states were using the latest version so it thinks 5.5.1 is the most up to date version. Obviously it’s not true but we’re unable to resolve our problems.

We tried manually downloading and installing 6.3 through the web browser, both Edge and Chrome, but we could not find the PHP directory to manually install the latest version.

Has anyone else run into this issue where WordPress thinks it’s up to date but in reality it’s almost a year out of date?

  1. You’re using WordPress.com, so I don’t think you can install it manually as you don’t have the necessary server access required for a manual upgrade. Contact WordPress.com support. Or better yet, get yourself some proper WordPress hosting that gives you full access to your server and software.
