As the title says, i find this difficult to achieve for some reason and i’m looking for advice.
I have 2 plugins released in the repository. A simpler sone, which helps users to create custom post types and the second one is a full on Membership plugin which also has a pro version but the free version is more than enough for small businesses with no big limitations. Of course the end goal would be for people to install the free version and then to move on to the pro one. I’m not going to post the url’s here because of the no promotion rules here but whoever wants to test it our i can DM you with the url.
So, back to the issue at hand, as the ecosystem has really evolved in time there are a few “go to” plugins which everyone is using like Memberpress which is ridiculously overpriced or others which sell you “modules” which get you again into buying multiple ones just to get going. That’s not even the problem, the problem in my opinion (which made me build this membership plugin) is the fact that the setup of these are just junk. It’s endless settings pages which have no meaning. What i did with mine is to create a very clean admin area based on material design which is very intuitive and easy to use (at least i think it is 🙂 ). The other issue is the fact that i don’t have the budged Memberpress has for example to compete (Memberpress is owned by awesome motive which has a lot more plugins and is the owner of wpbeginner and the first 5 results on the first page on google on a “membership plugin” are all owned by this one company ). Google takes you $1.5 / click and on groups like this you can’t really advertise because of the group rulles (which i agree with because if everyone would advertise here it would just be that).
So …. how do make my plugin visible to people ? how do i advertise in a “budget friendly” way ? I’m not trying to get rich here but i know that if people would see my product and use it, it would change their mind on how a plugin like this should work … but i see no way of really doing this without breaking some rules or put in a ton of cash i don’t have 🙂
