How is WPMU Dev in 2023?

I’m looking at their agency plan during Black Friday this year, $198/year with an annual $144 hosting credit.

Normally I consider the WPMU stuff ridiculously expensive, but at the current BFCM pricing it doesn’t seem bad. I already spend more than $144 a year for hosting (maining through Rebel Canada) so I’m considering switching over a few sites. After the hosting credit, it’s just $4.50 a month.

What are your thoughts on WPMU? I saw they got a lot of hate on here, but those posts seem to be 5+ years old. Does anybody have recent experience with them?

I’m mainly interested because of their white-label services and automation tools. Setting up branded client portals, automated billing, rebranding the WP backend clients see, having WPMU handle client support tickets and live support, automatic white-label reports, uptime monitoring, multisite tools, etc.

Plus their new wholesale domain reseller stuff looks cool. Could be nice to give clients the option to search for and select their domains on my site as part of the purchase process.

I mainly use Oxygen and Bricks for building the sites. Haven’t seen any compatibility issues with these builders.
