  1. Plugin count alone doesn’t matter, it’s about *what* plugins you’re running. Some are much heavier and load more crap into your site than others. I would make sure you’re not running plugins with similar functionality (ex: multiple cache plugins, multiple security plugins, multiple slider plugins, etc.)

  2. If you have a good caching setup it does not matter. It gives visitors a html copy of your site, keeping server stress low and page visits fast.

  3. It’s not always plugins. You could have 30 plugins (wouldn’t recommend) but if they are optimized and work well with each other then your site will still load fine. Check the console for its suggestions to improve load speed.

    This often included compressing images, minifying files etc.

    On the other hand if your theme or plugins are poorly coded, even 1 plugin could tank your site load speed.
