But Then again, they are used across 09 sites that I manage.
I see it less and less these days that Plugins have lifetime licenses anymore.

Yeah that’s absurd! And you should be glad that lifetime licenses are dying. While everyone that loves a good deal buys the license, long term as a consumer it forces devs to abandon products because who in their right mind wants to work forever on something they got paid for 10 years ago.
I buy group buy plugins that save costs as well.

My clients pay their licensing fees for anything I don’t already have a lifetime license. If I have to manage the license, there’s a formula I use, so at the end of the day I’m net positive for licenses.
Group buy for lifetime deals are best.

I have a handful of sites, only thing I pay for is Breakdance builder at $150. And even then I’m thinking that I could probably reduce that to $0, since I own Blocksy LTD and Stackable LTD. But I like to keep installed stuff to a minimum and BD covers both the theme side and content designing side.
I spend ~$1000 total for 7 websites. Includes hosting, plugins, domains, etc.
Off the top of my head, roughly $500 of that is plugins. Elementor Pro, WP Rocket, Rank Math, All Import Pro and maybe a few more I’m forgetting.
I have some themes from Proteusthemes i gladly paid for.
I have som plugins i paid for, but don’t use anymore.
I am considering to buy Blocksy Pro but 199 $ is a lot. Then again, Blocksy is the only thinking is it worth.
I would say 95% of every plugin i have used / are using is the freeversion. I don’t pay subscriptions. Hate that.
When I was in charge of about 400 WordPress sites, we bought one lifetime subscription to ACF Pro for $300, every thing else was free or written in House. Last I checked they hadn’t changed, so $0.
