How Much of My Plan Can I Achieve With Basic Tools?

[ad_1]

I’m really lost in the weeds with wanting to create a small site for my articles and some photos. I own a url through Ionos and thought wordpress would be great to do it myself, and avoid paying thousands for a small project. I however here WordPress is limiting or makes the site really slow without paying a developer. And I’m not sure if its easy to fix up in the future without losing all of my stuff?

I’d like a title banner across the top, with a basic banner menu underneath with ‘Home’ ‘Photos’ ‘Articles’ and ‘Contact’. This stays static while the page beneath changes.

I’d like the article list to be a list of images with the title on it to click. The photo gallery I’d love to be tiles that can be clicked on with a pop-up box with the image and a description on the side with comments, kinda like browser instagram.

Is this all done easily enough with WordPress basc tools and limited knowledge?

  1. I’d recommend you look at Squarespace instead – it’s much more user friendly to those that are new to web development – it takes care of your images + resizing, which WordPress doesn’t and will slow your site down if not done correctly.
