How to clone and upload a website to WordPress, so it can be completely edited before going online. Is this possible?

[ad_1]

Hi All,
I understand that cloning a website and then turning it online is illegal and it’s not something I’m trying to do. I’d like to make a copy of a blog site as the aesthetics are what I’m looking for. I’d like to use it as a template and then change all the content before I turn the website live. I’ve seen redditors use wget or httrack however these don’t allow upload to WordPress for manual edits. I’m going to keep researching to see if I can find another way to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  1. To be clear, you’re asking how to violate copyright and steal somebody else’s site? Or am I misunderstanding?

(Yes, “I just like the look of it how can I copy that?” is still blatant stealing.)

  2. Right click > View Source > ctrl+f “themes/” – look for the name of the theme, then go find/buy that theme.

Blatantly copying a site is copyright theft.
