How to make Anchor & Jump links display lower down

[ad_1]

Sorry for the terrible title on this one, I understand it's not very clear, so allow me to elaborate.

I'm currently working on a new site – I'm new to WordPress and don't know much about coding at all, but I'm learning the whole thing as I go.

For context, I'm using the WP astra plug-in and a separate sticky header plug-in (this is important).

When I add anchor links to a post, they work fine and jump to the top of the page. The issue that I'm having is that now I have a sticky header (thanks to the sticky header plug-in), the jump links still jump to the top of the page, but this makes them sit behind the sticky header (my guess is because it's floating or something? I have no idea), so you end up jumping to a section of the blog post mid-paragraph and the H2 and top of the paragraph get cut off the display.

Does anyone know how this can be fixed? Do I need to alter the CSS of my sticky header (I'm hoping this is the case)? Or do I need to do something with the anchor text itself (also is there a way to do this site-wide if so?) Or is it simply something different that I'm overlooking?

Thank you all in advance!
