How to paywall a page when Paid Content block isn’t showing?

I’ve got Stripe payments enabled on my WordPress but if I try and add a Paid Content widget, nothing appears.

I really don’t want to have to pay for a plugin and the help site makes it look like I can do this for free with WP – but why isn’t Paid Content appearing? I use Elementor if that makes a difference…
