How to provide my customers their own “microsite” on my website.

I want to create a section of my website where customers can create what I’m calling a “microsite”.

This “microsite” would afford them their own login to allow only them and I to add, edit, delete content.

I see a need for a few pages:

Customer Profile
Vehicle Portfolio
Vehicle Portfolio Detail

They would be able to upload photos, video clips, select from required drop-down to “classify” their make, model, year, etc. There would also be free-text fields that would allow them to tell their “story” on any aspect of interest: their journey building it, equipping it, and so forth. I would need to approve prior to publishing (for a variety of reasons).

My website needs to provide that particular customer exclusive access (and I) to the editing of their set of pages, but when published, it’s available for anyone to see.

What are the different ways this can be accomplished?

Plugin
Subdomain
?

I really need this functionality and appreciate those with experience to provide their advice/guidance.

  1. A subdomain would give clients and their customers a personalized experience. Depending on how it’s setup, it could share common features e.g. load balancers, proxies, CDN and more.

It’s also a great way to decouple and compartmentalize the sites so that a change in one doesn’t affect the other.

You could also take a look at WordPress multisite to maximize the management of multiple sites –
