Hello,
Thanks for your message. The Shortcodes of Vik Booking should not be published in your home page article, or the URL routing functions for the booking process will not work as expected. This is because the home-page is a special page with no permalink, it’s actually the root address of your website.
For this reason, in the home-page we suggest to use the widgets of Vik Booking. More precisely, it’s a common technique to publish the “Search Form” widget in the home-page with the settings properly configured. In fact, the “page” settings will determine the action of the form, hence the landing page URL from which the booking process will be routed and started. From the dropdown menu of the “Page” settings for the “Search Form” widget you should select one of the active Shortcodes previously set up through Vik Booking.
The best solution at the moment to publish a widget on a specific section of your home-page content, and not on a Sidebar, is to use the page-builder plugin of your Theme. Otherwise, the WordPress native functions will only allow you to publish the Vik Booking widgets on a Sidebar of your Theme, which are obviously dependent on your Theme settings and characteristics.
We hope this is helpful.
