I want to build a calculator site, similar to – https://www.omnicalculator.com
Hundreds of calculators across dozens of categories.
It would be like a blog – but calculators on top of the pages and supporting content below. For example a mortgage calculator could be at – calculatorsite.com/finance/mortgage-calculator/
Each calculator would be unique, no shared styles or functions, and they would be made with html js, css, php (for any sensitive code, api keys, or competitive code I want to hide from snoopers).
And I would also like to utilise libraries and frameworks like three.js, react, bootstrap etc where relevant – maybe via cdn links in the script for simplicity or a different more reliable solution?
For so many calculators, you'd want some kind of management system, whether it's a custom plugin (I tried this a few times – it goes wrong too often and I'm not very good at it) or an establisbed plugin like WPCode for code snippets, or some other kind of solution for this type of site – I don't have enough experience to gather all the available options and I am stuck at using code snippets – I can't help but feel maybe this is an amateur approach?
What I tried so far:
– Using Astra theme, creating categories in posts and then using WPCode to create a code snippet with a shortcode, which I publish on a page
– Same as above but html blocks in the posts – can't use PHP to use API keys and it's much more difficult to manage, edit, update calculators
I'm looking for guidance on an organised, efficient, reliable and simple yet powerful system / workflow / structure etc to guide me with this site
Excuse me for my naivety, I have little experience with wordpress and coding in general.
