I keep getting a “mainEntity” missing error after choosing FAQ Schema for posts in Yoast. Any know how to fix this?

I should clarify that the error shows up in my Google search console. It seems that somethings missing however I can’t figure out what mainentity stands for.

    here is plugin author response

You will get the: Missing field “mainEntity” error if you set a page as an FAQ page within the Schema of Yoast meta box and you don’t use the Yoast SEO FAQ block. This guide explains more on how you can use the Yoast SEO FAQ block: https://yoast.com/how-to-build-an-faq-page/#how. If you are not using the FAQ Block, you will need to change the schema setting back to default.

We understand that you have a Google Search Console error with FAQ issues for your webpage
