Hi,
I’m not a pro developer but I enjoy building websites now and then for friends and family. I built a site for a friend a few years ago and he recently asked me to make some modifications to it. I went the LocalWP route – saved the original site with Updraft, downloaded the backup and ported that to my local machine.
I went ahead and made the changes, however, I think I might have clicked a wrong option when sending it back to the live host. I think there was an option partway through to update WordPress and some other things, however, the main issue *i think* is that I called the local site by a different URL than the original site.
So, yep I went through the restore process but now:
* When I navigate to the site [paradigmpost.co.uk]) it seems to be only displaying the HTML file but worse,
* I can’t access [paradigmpost.co.uk/wp-admin]), when i do, the URL resolves to [https://localhost:10004/wp-admin/upgrade.php?\_wp\_http\_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2F](https://localhost:10004/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2F) which throws a secure connection page
* I’ve also tried appending the recovery mode link to the site URL but the initially shows just the HTML for the recovery login and then when I login it onlys displays [https://localhost:10004/wp-login.php](https://localhost:10004/wp-login.php)
Do you think I need to cut my losses, erase everything and start again? How would I do that? It uses Namecheap as a host and CPanel for admin.
I guess I could clear everything and start a fresh install with a known working updraft backup but I’m hoping that there’s a really quick fix that an expert could point me to.
Thanks a lot!
