I am relocating a site to a new host, which I have done successfully a handful of times before and have been sent the site files (wp-admin, wp-content, wp-includes and other route files etc) and the sqldump. But I also have a third file called meta.json that I’m not used to seeing. Anyone know what this could be for? I don’t know the history of the site and can’t contact the original creator. This has just been sent to me to sort out.
Their new host is having some issues creating databases so while I’m waiting I have tried uploading the backup on my own hosting as a test, linking the db in the config file etc and adjusting the urls in wp-options table, but it’s not happy. The site loads but with a “this page can’t be found” search page, I can’t log in to the dashboard (PW says incorrect) and none of the pages show on the front end. Could the meta.json be the reason?
I’ve triple checked everything else. Making changes in the db has an effect, so surely it’s correctly connected?
