I’m completely redesigning a site with a new theme, how can I look at the original while doing so?

I know I can save the webpages one-by-one locally, but I need a better approach. I’m looking for the best way I can transfer original assets to the new theme, redesign from the ground up while looking at the original to compare/improve.

Any ideas?
