I’m making a new self-hosted WP site but custom domain currently points to existing Squarespace site, when I point domain to new site will page url’s adopt custom domain?

I’m about to start creating pages on the new WP site which let’s say has the url
anonposter1976.sg-host.com however I already have a live squarespace site at anonposter1976.com (which my WP is designed to replace). When finished setting up my new WP site and I point my custom domain to my new WP site will visitors still see anonposter1976.sg-host.com as page urls or will the custom domain override all that?
