Please try adding the following constant to your wp-config.php file to see if that’ll change anything:
define(‘NGG_DISABLE_DYNAMIC_IMG_URLS’, true);
Else , you could check by deactivate plugins individually to determine if any of them is conflicting with the theme.

Many thanks for your help. I fixed the problem with GatorHost support.
It turns out the NExtGen plugin on my admin portal was corrupt. Some older features were deprecated. I had to clear all cache on the WP admin portal and that fixed all my issues (finally removed the NextGen plugin too). I’m no longer using NG and removed the galleries I had created, replacing that with a simple group full of images.
