is it possible to filter by post category?

[ad_1]

Hello, everyone. I’ll try to explain briefly what I’d like to see if it’s possible. I’m developing a website that will show events that take place at the university where I work and also a repository of these same events in previous versions. The idea of the site is that the person clicks on an event and it appears prominently, on a template page made in Elementor Pro, and the fields are dynamic, where each event is filled in POSTs, that is, each post, an event refers to an event that will take place and also its previous editions.

When I click on a specific event, a template opens, detailing all the necessary content for that event, such as date, location, times, event data and other information inserted in custom fields (ACF) and assigned in dynamic tags via Elementor Pro to compose the screen.

However, the footer needs a LOOPING of POSTS with the past events of the one I want to see in detail. That brings me to my question. Is it possible to use an ACF field to ‘capture’ the categories I’ve created for the posts and through this field, within Elementor Pro’s dynamic tags, use it as a parameter for Query to filter and display in the Looping Grid only the same sub-category as the post I’m displaying?

Thank you.
