Is it possible to update a site’s main theme that doesn’t use a child theme?

[ad_1]

I am working with someone who asked me to do some maintenance on their website (update plugins, clean up random junk files which aren’t used anymore, etc.). The problem I noticed is that the site uses an older version of a paid theme with WPBakery than what’s currently available.

I’d like to update the theme and its premium plugins since there have been a lot of new useful features and compatibility updates for latest WP released in the newer version, but it didn’t come with child theme. I didn’t see anything special in the css file that indicates that things were customized through it.
