Hi there, one of my friends wants to hire a developer to work on his site for speed and performance but he is worried about security.
He asked me if it’s safe to hire someone from up work to do it for him. How would the process go? Should he give the developer full access or what to do?

How would a developer do everything needed if you don’t give them full access? Do you worry a mechanic is going to cut your brakes when you take your car into the shop?
That said, don’t find some random on dubious websites. Go with established people who have some kind of internet presence / testimonials / contact info.
Give them an admin login and delete it when the job’s done.
If someone’s paying me for a job, I’m not interested in ruining their business; I want to do the job I’m paid for and that’s it.
