I have no coding skills or experience, As far as i read alt text should be normal text?
When i inspected my site i saw my images alt text have the same name as my images file name.

So if this is wrong is it bad for google ranking, should i change everything individually or is there a way to automate this?

The alternative text of an image must describe it in case it does not appear on the site.
The image must have the shortest possible name.
Example:
Image: racing car
Text: This image depicts a rally car race
