Is this okay? (Host migration to green geek)

[ad_1]

I’m shifting hosts to green geek and they said that during migration they would need the log in details of my previous host, is this safe and a regular practice during migration’s (just tryna be safe as I have my payment details on the last host and can’t remove it).

And if you guys have used or are using green geeks shared wordpress hosting (the 8.95 dollar plan) is it good? If not what do you guys think about A2 hosting? Do both have Cpanel?

  1. If you are migrating cpanel to cpanel the hosting login can allow them to copy the whole account over, all sites, all emails, etc all at once. It’s the preferred method by most but in reality, if it’s just a single site an admin login to the site is all that is truly needed as plugins are capable of packing up sites. If its a paid migration you could maybe request they do it a specific way, if its free they likely have ways they require to do it to keep labor low.
