Issue logging into WP Admin via Local

[ad_1]

Hello. I have set up Local on our website for development purposes. Everything appears to be set up correctly and I’m able to access the live preview on the .local subdomain. However, I’m unable to log in to WP Admin via Local.

I am using the correct WP Admin credentials that I use to log in outside of Local. When logging in, I get the following message:

>**VERIFICATION REQUIRED**: Additional verification is required for login. If there is a valid account for the provided login credentials, please check the email address associated with it for a verification link to continue logging in.

However, the email never comes. I reached out to our IT department to see if the email is getting hung up in our email servers, but they haven’t seen anything. I’ve tried multiple times across a few days now.

I posted about this on Local’s forums but have not received a response. I haven’t seen this issue posted anywhere else. Any ideas would be appreciated!

  1. This isn’t anything to do with “Local” itself – you have some sort of security plugin running – you can/should remove those on your Local instances.

Also, local doesn’t send out emails external – they are capture in the Local application – click the “Tools” tab and access MailHog/MailPit

  2. If you really can’t get in and absolutely have to, you can rename the plugins folder to force deactivate them all. Then login, and reactivate.

Or if you know which security plugin doing that, you can simply move the specific plugin out of the plugin folder to deactivate (I think it is wordfence)
