Hi,
I'm experiencing a problem with the Gutenberg editor where, when selecting text and pressing the single or double quote keys (' or "), the selected text gets surrounded by the quotes instead of being replaced.
I’ve tried disabling wptexturize but it didn’t resolve the problem. Has anyone encountered this issue before or have suggestions on how to fix it?

You could push backspace first, after making your selection. Is this really such a big problem?
This is actually helpful IMHO.
Yes I can press backspace or del, but I’m not used to doing it with other editors, which makes me forget that I have to do it in WordPress. I’m also curious if this is normal behavior, and if there is an easy method to disable it…
